In order to schedule a Baptism, both parents and God parents must take a Baptismal Prep class.
Baptismal Prep Classes are offered virtually on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 7-8:30pm, and in-person at OLH on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 11:00am. To register for the class call the Parish Office at 847-244-4161. This class credit is valid for three years and must be repeated in order to schedule additional baptisms after that period.
Baptismal Prep Classes can be taken at another Catholic Church. In such case, we will need a copy of a letter/certificate from that parish.
After you have taken this class, you will need to fill out a Baptismal Intake Form and submit a copy of your child’s STATE birth certificate and a copy of the mother or father’s driver’s license.
Time of Baptisms:
· during Weekend Masses at St. Patrick and Our Lady of Humility
· Sunday at 10:30am, i.e. after the 9:30am Mass at Our Lady of Humility
· Sunday at 12:30pm, i.e. after the 11:00am Mass at St. Patrick
Baptism are offered with a maximum of 2 children at Weekend Masses and with a maximum of 3 children on Sundays after Masses.
Other dates may be available if a priest/deacon is available.
We do not schedule Baptisms on holy days of obligation or civil holidays.
$65 free will donation is appreciated.

The Holy Eucharist refers to Christ’s living body and blood. When receiving the holy Eucharist, Jesus Christ literally becomes part of us and we are intimately united with Him and his Holy Catholic Church. Students will receive their first communion in the spring of second grade. For special circumstances or if you are an adult interested in receiving Sacraments or joining the Catholic Church call the parish office at 847-244-4161.

Typically weddings are not scheduled on holy days of obligation or civil holidays.
You cannot put a date on the calendar until the date is approved by the Pastor and the fee of $100 nonrefundable deposit is paid.
Please note that preparation and reservation should be arranged at least six months ahead of time, before other wedding plans or reservations are made.

Funerals
Compassionate Caring in the Catholic Tradition
When you have experienced a death in your family and when a loved one dies, the task of making arrangements for the Funeral Mass can seem overwhelming. We at St. Brigid Parish are here to walk with you in your time of need. We have a compassionate Ministry of Bereavement that will assist you at this time.
We typically only deal with funeral homes, but sometimes a family calls to schedule a funeral.
Funerals are typically held at 10:00/11:00am on Monday-Saturday. We do offer a 1-hour visitation prior to Mass.
Once your funeral director of choice has notified our church office of a death and a funeral request and a time for the Mass is set, one of our Bereavement Ministers will contact you and set a time to meet with you to plan the readings and music for the Mass of Christian Burial.
Funeral fee is $550 and is paid on the day of the funeral or before.
The selections of Bible readings are here - you’ll select one Old Testament and one New Testament. Readings are available in Spanish upon request:
The songs for the funeral liturgy will be chosen from this list. Choose one song from each category. You can click on the song title to hear a short clip of the music.

If you are not using a funeral home and are hoping to plan a memorial Mass, please call St. Brigid Parish office at 847-872-8778 (OLH Church) or 847-244-4161 (St. Patrick Church) and we will lead you through the process.
Every one of us who is Catholic should keep a card in our wallets or purse that says, “I am Catholic. In the event of an accident or serious illness, please call a Roman Catholic Priest.” You can get one of these cards at a Catholic book store or other religious organizations. (I keep one in my wallet and update the information frequently).
Having a plan in advance is an act of kindness and generosity and a true and lasting gift to loved ones left behind. Preplanning your funeral Mass and documenting your wishes beforehand is available here.
